Erlandsons open glass store

PARKERSBURG – Erlandson Glass LLC, a new business specializing in glass products and services, opened in April at 2209 Camden Ave. in south Parkersburg.

Owner Jim Erlandson has over 15 years of experience in the glass products and repair industry.

With the closing in April of the local General Glass Store where he worked as branch manger, Erlandson thought the timing was right and that he could fill a void by opening his own glass sales, repair and installation business.

“The glass industry is unique,” he said. “It takes training and many years of experience to be able to offer custom cut glass products and to help design glass for special projects. We offer nearly any glass product a person or company may need, from simple replacement glass for picture frames to storefront windows in businesses. We custom-cut or special order most glass types, as well as regular glass,” Erlandson said.

Some of the products and services offered by Erlandson Glass will include: window glass repair (including fogged windows), designer glass for cabinets, glass shelves, table and desk tops, mirror replacement and repair, Plexiglass and Lexan, commercial storefront installation, aluminum door repair, commercial door lock replacement, window and door screens and others.

Erlandson Glass also offers 24-hour emergency service by calling 304-941-9252.

Erlandson, his wife, Amanda, and their seven children live in Mineral Wells. He is a U.S. Army veteran and she is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Currently, Erlandson Glass is a two-person operation with the couple, but they hope to soon add new equipment, new employees and to offer some additional glass-related services.

“I think one of the greatest things we offer through our business is 15 years of experience and, more importantly, the personal relationship we have with our customers,” he said. “We believe in the Golden Rule and every customer is treated just as we would want to be treated.

“My wife Amanda and I love the Parkersburg area,” Erlandson said. “As the former manager of General Glass, we have many friends in the area. It is a joy to be part of the great business family in our area. We look forward to many years of service to our friends who have glass-related needs.”

Erlandson said the first month of operating his own business has been positive, with a good response from customers. The couple has worked to get the word out about their business through social media, word of mouth and advertising.

“We’ve had a really good response,” he said.

Erlandson said the company’s service area is primarily focused on the Mid-Ohio Valley, but he will travel for larger jobs, such as a recent project in Clarksburg.

Erlandson Glass LLC is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at its Camden Avenue location. More information is available by calling 304-893-9799 or on Facebook at www.facebook/ErlandsonGlass.
