Bureau awarded for 2013 visitors guide and video

PARKERSBURG – The Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau recently earned Communicator Awards for its 2013 Visitors Guide and recent “Make Your Own History” video by the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

The bureau’s agency of record, Stonewall Group, produced both items.

The “Make Your Own History” video was unveiled early this year at the bureau’s annual meeting and is about the local attractions from the perspective that welcomes visitors and residents to make their own memories, their own adventures, their own journeys and their own history here.

The 2.5-minute video is at www.youtube.com/parkersburgcvb.

The 72-page full-color visitors guide featured key information of the greater Parkersburg area. The free guide highlights the history and heritage of the region through images.

The cover of the 2013 guide showcased Henderson Hall Plantation. Local photographer Jim Osborn captured the image and others in the guide. The piece was printed by Chapman Printing of Parkersburg.

The awards program honors creative excellence for communications professionals. This year’s Communicator Awards received 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes.
