Pleasants chamber to hold business development seminar
ST. MARYS – The Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Small Business Development Seminar 1 p.m. April 17 in city council chambers at the St. Marys City Building.
Federal, state and local officials will participate, said Jody Murphy, executive director of the chamber. Small business owners will receive information on programs to assist in the start-up, growth, development and expansion of businesses, he said.
Participants will include the U.S. Small Business Association, the West Virginia Development Office, the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council and the Pleasants County Economic Development Authority.
“This seminar will give you some ideas of the loans and programs available through various channels,” Murphy said.
Opportunities are available for businesses to use loan programs and partnerships, said Murphy, encouraging small business owners to attend.
A small business is a company with less than 500 employees. For manufacturers it can be less than 1,500 employees, he said.
The seminar is free to members of the chamber and $20 for non-members. To register call the chamber at 304-684-9909 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
