OVU taps Jones as VP for academic affairs
VIENNA – Ohio Valley University Monday named a new vice president for academic affairs.
The appointment of Joy Jones was announced by President Harold Shank.
“Dr. Jones brings strong business acumen and discipline to this role. Her deep academic leadership and experience will serve OVU well. I know I speak for our entire university community when I say we could not be more pleased with her selection,” said Shank.
Jones was dean of Ohio Valley University’s College of Business. She served as chairman of the OVU School of Professional Studies from 2010, was vice president of finance and CFO from 2007-2010 and was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs from 2001-2007.
She has a Ph.D. in higher education administration, a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in education, all from Ohio University. She has extensive experience working with the Higher Learning Commission.
Jones and her husband, Lee, work with Pentajay Co., where she is managing partner, and C&E Stores Inc., where she is corporate treasurer.
