Frontier expanding services to community
WILLIAMSTOWN – Frontier Communications has enhanced services to more than 200 households and businesses in Williamstown, with more areas of expanded services to come.
General Manager Tammy Shingleton said Frontier upgraded bandwidth for the Williamstown area at the end of 2013, adding a new service area. This allows customers to order packages of service which include high speed internet and phone, services previously unavailable through Frontier to that area.
“The recent upgrade in Williamstown provides expanded speeds of up to 24 Mbps (megabits per second) in all areas with the exception of Boaz, which also will be upgraded in the next couple of months,” Shingleton said. “Frontier also is expanding HSI (high speed internet) coverage to additional unserved areas of Elizabeth, Lubeck, Ravenswood and Ripley. These projects are expected to be completed within the next month.”
Residents can call 1-800-921-8101 for information about service in their area. Customers also can go online to frontier.com to look at available service bundles.
Shingleton said how much broadband a customer needs varies largely on personal preference. The Federal Communications Commission offers an online guide for consumers, which can be found at www.fcc.gov/guides/broadband-service-home-consumers-guide.
