Entrepreneur of the Year award given to Sheppard
PARKERSBURG – Judy K. Sheppard, president/CEO of Professional Services of America Inc., has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year.
Sheppard won in the Business Services category, which recognizes firms between 11 and 2,500 employees. This is the 10th year that the Stevie Awards has honored Women in Business.
Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 240 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year. It recognizes female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they manage.
The awards were presented to winners during a sold-out event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Sheppard’s Stevie Award was based on her achievements since July 2012, including being named the ORV-WBE Trailblazer Woman of the Year, recognized as the W.Va. Region 3 Minority Small Business Person of the Year and has written many articles for local, regional and national women’s publications.
Sheppard is the designer of innovative human resource programs and services for large companies and government agencies, according to a press release. She serves as the West Virginia Small Business Advocate to lobby for changes for small and women-owned businesses.
