Anna Maria Phillips and Kevin Shane Tate were united in married on Oct. 3, 2017, at Hocking Hills Wedding Chapel in Logan, Ohio.

The outdoor ceremony was officiated by Rev. Matthew Archibald.

The bride is the daughter of the late Doris and John Westbrook of Parkersburg. She attended Parkersburg High School and received a degree from West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She is the mother of two sons, Rick L. Phillps and Jason M. Phillips, both of Parkersburg.

The groom is the son of Ellen May Tate and the late Dwight Clinton Tate of Belpre. He attended Newark High School and studied accounting at Washington State Community College. He is employed as a process operator at DuPont Washington Works. He is the father of one son, Kevin Shane Tate Jr., of Columbus.

A small reception followed the ceremony with only the bride and groom in attendance.

The couple spent a month prior to the wedding traveling across the United State, visiting multiple state and seeing many national parks. Their travels included St. Louis, Dodge City, Kan., Moab, Utah, Cambria, Calif., Longview, Wash., Cheyenne, Wy., Reno, Nevada, Monterey, Calif., and Las Vegas, where he proposed.

After a honeymoon at the Hocking Hills Chalets, the couple will reside in Belpre.
