Amey Elizabeth Harvey and Jared Michael Dougherty were married at 4:30 p.m. March 8 at the Creek Club at I’on in Charleston, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chick Harvey of Rome, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Rosella Harvey of Rome, the late Charlie Harvey, the late Elmer J. Kline, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Deaton.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Dougherty of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Nordeck of Parkersburg, Reba Dougherty of Parkersburg, the late Francis Dougherty and the late George Farley.

The Rev. Coleman Smith of Atlanta officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The wedding music selections included “Ode to Joy,” “Banana Pancakes,” “Marry Me” and “Haste to the Wedding.”

Leslie Rickman of Fort Mill, S.C., read “Journey to Be” and Betsey Langham of San Antonio, Texas, read the “Irish Wedding Blessing” during the ceremony.

Stephanie Chapman of Cincinnati served as maid of honor. Sarah Nagel of Vail, Ariz.; Kathy Waller of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; Stephanie Hoare of Morristown, N.J., and Ann-Sydney Harvey, sister-in-law of the bride, of Charleston, S.C., served as bridesmaids.

Josh Vensel of Parkersburg and Ryan Williams of Aspinwall, Pa., served as best men. Groomsmen were Justin Corbitt of Singapore; Jason Lockney of Wexford, Pa.; Joe Harris of Wahlawa, Hawaii, and Patrick Milhoan of Alexandria, Va.

Noah Vaughn, nephew of the groom, and “Abby,” the family pet, served as ring bearers.

Lynda Farley, aunt of the groom, served as the program attendant.

The mistress of ceremony was Patti Harden of Richmond, Va.

Following the ceremony on the lawn, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents in the Creek Club.

A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at Rue De Jean.

Other pre-nuptial parties included an engagement party hosted by Dr. Julia Girard and Freida Griffin in Rome and a bridal shower hosted by Stephanie Hoare, Stephanie Chapman and Sarah Nagel in Morristown.

The couple will have a delayed wedding trip in September to Croatia and Italy. They will reside in Morristown.
