Cassandra Deneene Winters and John William McKenzie were married on Oct. 18, 2013. Joe Stephens officiated the double-ring ceremony in the loft of the Marietta Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Deneene Winters of Vienna and granddaughter of Barbara and the late Richard Winters of Vienna, Don and Dee Artherhults of Roanoke, Va., and Kathy Whitlock of Roanoke, Va. She is a 2008 graduate of Parkersburg High School and is employed by Belk as a loss prevention associate.

The groom is the son of Bill and Kathryn McKenzie of Scottsdale, Ariz., and the grandson of John and Selma McKenzie of Warwood, W.Va., and John and Del Leopardo of Ellwood City, Pa. He majored in history and was a member of the Arnold Air Society in AFROTC at West Virginia University before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 2011.

He serves with the 4th Law Enforcement Batallion MP Company Charlie out of Dayton, Ohio, and is employed as a loss prevention specialist with Lowes.

The bride’s attendants included Courtenay Coleman, as matron of honor, and Devyn Carson and Savannah Delozier, as bridesmaids.

The groom’s best man was Anthony Smith. Groomsmen were Dustin Catron and Tom McKenzie, John’s cousin.

Assisting as ushers were Donovan and Krischan Winters, brothers of the bride. Both brothers serve in the U.S. Navy.

Following a week-long honeymoon at Walt Disney World, the couple reside in Vienna.
