Cassi Jo Walters and Lance Jeffrey Hitt were united in marriage June 15, 2013, at Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna. Pastor Mark Houser officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Rocky and Melinda Walters of Ellenboro, W.Va.
She is the granddaughter of Helen Whitely and the late Raymond Whitely of Whipple, Ohio. She is a 2008 graduate of Ritchie County High School and 2013 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a specialization in social studies. She is a teacher in the Wood County Board of Education system.
The bridegroom is the son of Jeffrey and Beverly Hitt of Parkersburg.
He is the grandson of Charlie and Waveline Fox of Parkersburg and Roberta Hitt and the late John Hitt of Parkersburg. He is a 2006 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2011 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a contract specialist at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a formal length gown of diamond chiffon. The mermaid style gown was designed with a sweetheart neckline, encrusted with pearls and rhinestones, and carried a cathedral length train. The bride’s veil was a double layer fingertip illusion with scattered crystals and rhinestones.
She carried a bouquet of red and white roses accented with rhinestone broaches.
Leigh Ann Hackney, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Andrea Parsons, sister of the groom, Jennifer Hickman, sister of the groom, Brittany Fox, cousin of the groom, and Ashely Pratt, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids. The flower girl was Elleson Hackney, niece of the bride.
Phil Pifer, friend of the groom, was the best man. Bill Twyman, Hunter Sams, Jordan Jones and Joe Pifer, all friends of the groom, served as groomsmen. The ring bearer was Bryce Parsons, nephew of the groom.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Grand Pointe Conference Center with a buffet-style meal and was followed with a DJ and dancing for the rest of the evening.
Following the wedding, the newlyweds flew to Saint Martin, where they enjoyed a one-week Caribbean honeymoon. They now reside in Mineral Wells.
