Hensler-Tucker

Olivia Anne Hensler and Eric Michael Tucker were married at 1:30 p.m. May 25, 2013, in a ceremony on the patio of the Ohio University Inn in Athens.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by Pastors Jay Hubbard, the bride’s pastor; Jeff Mohl, a friend of the groom; and Dan Stevens, the groom’s pastor. Nuptial music was performed by pianist Ryan Agar of Virginia.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Judie Hensler of Guysville, Ohio. She is the granddaughter of Eugene and Nancy Dahse of Amesville, Ohio, and the late Dallas Clayton and Barbara Hensler of Marietta.

The groom is the son of Davis and Mary Sheppard of Parkersburg and Roger and Cheryl Tucker of Doddridge County. He is the grandson of Robert Tucker and the late Irene Tucker of Mineral Wells, Betty Sheppard of Parkersburg and the late Charles Jonas.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father. She wore a white A-line beaded lace gown, accented with a white satin sash and flower. She also wore a short birdcage veil. The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies with a center pink peony from the garden of her grandfather, Eugene Dahse. The bouquet stem was wrapped in pearls.

Amanda Beckett of Oregonia, Ohio, served as matron of honor for her sister. Maid of honor was Janie Tucker of Parkersburg, sister of the bridegroom.

Bridemaids were Sarah Jeffers of Coolville, Josalin Cochran of Newport and Brittany Lasorella of Akron, all friends of the bride. Flower girl was Addyson Beckett of Oregonia, niece of the bride.

The bridal attendants wore knee-length dresses of dark purple chiffon with beaded straps and carried white and pink peonies from the gardens of family friends Mary Louise Phillips and Wayne Riggs. Wedding guests were registered by Hannah Teague, friend of the bride.

Best man was Michael West of Parkersburg, uncle of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Frank Teague of Parkersburg, Andy Williams of Covington, Va., Ben Byler of St. Marys and Jon Miller of Charleston, friends of the groom.

A reception was held in the Ohio University Inn Ballroom immediately following the ceremony. A white three-tiered wedding cake was accented with pearls and peonies, made by Carol Dickey, friend of the bride.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Wood County Christian School. She is a 2011 graduate of Hocking College with an associate’s degree in early childhood education and a 2013 graduate of Appalachian Bible College in Beckley, W.Va., with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a substitute teacher with Wood County Schools.

The bridegroom is a 2008 graduate of Wood County Christian School and a 2012 graduate of Applachian Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in youth and family services. He is employed as the assistant pastor and youth pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Parkersburg, and is self-employed at Tucker Landscaping.

After a honeymoon in Ocracoke, N.C., and the couple now reside in Parkersburg.
