Watson—Meeks

Kayla Brooke Watson and Brandon Lee Meeks were united in marriage June 15 at the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Waverly, W.Va. Rev. Diane Kenaston officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Danny and Tammy Neader of Parkersburg. She is the granddaughter of Lois Watson and the late Paul Watson of Parkersburg, and Albert Neader and the late Naomi Neader of Marietta.

The bridegroom is the son of Lyle and Debbie Meeks of St. Marys. He is the grandson of the late Fran Velisek of Waverly and the late Milton McGee of Cleveland, and the late Lee and Wanda Meeks of St. Marys.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless organza gown with a pleated and tiered skirt. THe gown featured beaded lace appliques accented with crystals, silver beadwork, silver sequins and seed pearls. The bride wore a two-tiered finger-tip veil featuring a beaded scallop edge, beaded flowers and sequins. She carried a bouquet of a mixture of pink, pale yellow and cream Gerbera daisies.

Tina Smith of St. Marys, sister of the groom, served as matron of honor.

Justin Brookover of Waverly, best friend of the groom, served as best man. Brayden Whited and Andrew Smith of St. Marys, nephews of the groom, served as ushers for Lois Watson, grandmother of the bride, and Tammy Neader, mother of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church fellowship hall.

The cake was created by Diane Roberts.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She is employed by Mineral Wells Veterinary Clinic as a veterinary assistant.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of St. Marys High School, a 2006 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersbur with a degree in criminal justice and a 2008 graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy, 58th Cadet Class. He is employed as a state trooper with the West Virginia State Police.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents for family and friends at their home in St. Marys.

Following a honeymoon to Las Vegas, the couple resides in St. Marys.
