Jeff and Tammie Brooks of Vincent announce the engagement of their daughter, Mallory Brooks of Vincent, to Christian Gomes of Westminster, Md.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Sue Brooks and the late Arthur Brooks of Vienna and Ken and Karen Newbrough of Vienna. She is a 2009 graduate of Warren High School and a 2013 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She is employed at Marshall University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the women’s volleyball and track and field teams. Alongside her work, she is studying for her master’s degree in athletic training.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Sharon Sanders of Westminster and Mike Gomes of Ashburn, Va. He is the grandson of Melvin and Dorothy Toups of Hampstead, Md. He is a 2009 graduate of Winters Mill High School and a 2013 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy. He is employed at Marshall University as a graduate service assistant in the Finance and Economics Academic departments while studying for his master’s degree in healthcare administration.
An open church wedding is planned for June 7 at the Beechwood Presbyterian Church with a reception following the ceremony at the Marietta Country Club.
