Flinn

John and Phyllis Currey Flinn will celebrate their 70th anniversary with an open reception from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 7 in the fellowship hall of the Washington United Methodist Church on DuPont Road.

They were married Oct. 6, 1948, at the parsonage of Epworth United Methodist Church in south Parkersburg, by the Rev. Rossing Smith.

She is the daughter of the late Bradley T. Currey and Elsie Currey. She is a former employee at Dils Department Store.

He is the son of the late Howard A. Flinn and Marie Flinn. He is retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of service.

They are the parents of one daughter and two sons, Rae (Steve) Lynch of Norfolk, Va., James B. (Peggy) Flinn of Mineral Wells and Tim (Diana) Flinn of LeRoy.

They have nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

They are members of Washington United Methodist Church.
