Bailey

The Baileys would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of the 70th anniversary of George “Pete” and Winsome “Winnie” Bailey.

The open house will be held from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 10 at Jordan and Sarah Bailey’s house at 1516 Washington Ave., Parkersburg.

They were married Dec. 14, 1947, and lived in Barnesville, Ohio, where they were born and raised. He was one of eight children raised on a farm and she was the youngest of two daughters.

They moved to Parkersburg in 1948, where he and his brother, Bob, owned and operated the Gulf Service Station on 7th and Juliana.

In 1961 he began his career at Shell Chemical and retired in 1987.

After retiring, he stayed busy with volunteer work at St. Andrews United Methodist Church and the Salvation Army, delivering meals.

She began a working career in 1966 as a sales associate at Sears in their downtown store. In the early 2000s, she retired from the personnel department.

They enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

They are the parents of two sons, Greg (Barbara) and Jon (Yonna).

They are the grandparents of Robert “R.G.” (Rachele) of Sachse, Texas; Jason of Parkersburg; Jordan (Sarah) of Parkersburg and Derek of Parkersburg.

They are the great-grandparents of Amber, Isabella, Taylor, Colby, Christian, Nicholas, Peter, Augustine “Gus” and Mary Elizabeth “Betty.”
