C. Lee and Yvonne Von Carrico of Parkersburg will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house celebration from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church on Juliana Street in Parkersburg.

They were married Feb 22, 1964, in Winchester, Va.

He served his country from 1960-1963 as a U.S. Army Specialist in Okinawa and Korea. He attended Clarksburg Business College and took classes in business machines. He retired from DuPont with 30 years of service as a control clerk. He enjoys photography, especially taking photos of nature and antique vehicles.

She is a 1964 graduate of Fairmont State College with a degree in education and received a master’s degree in reading education from West Virginia University. She is a retired elementary teacher, having taught 24 years at Gihon Elementary School and retiring in 1988. She was the Jaycee Teacher of the Year in 1974.

She is active in the local Hallmark Ornament Club and has been a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Pi teacher honorary sorority since 1972.

Both are active members of the First United Methodist Church where they serve as greeters.

Family, friends and former co-workers are invited to the party, hosted by cousins of the groom. Enter the church on the 10th Street entrance and go down to the Fellowship Hall.
