Lucky

Denver and Linda Lucky will celebrate their 50th anniversary today.

They were married on Oct. 27, 1963 at the Beechwood Heights Church of Christ, Pastor John Wyatt officiating.

He is the son of the late Earl and Derry Lucky of Parkersburg. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970. He received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State College.

He was employed with the Parkersburg Police Department, Borg-Warner Chemical Co. and worked at several local plants. He retired from GE Plastics in 2002. He then worked at Ohio Valley University and retired from there in 2012.

She is the daughter of the late Bob and Wilda Holbert of Vienna. She received her cosmetology license in Ohio and West Virginia and practiced as a cosmotologist at Merchant of Venice and Pink Lady. She received an associate’s degree from Parkersburg Community Collge and held various administration assistant jobs, retiring from DuPont in 2004 after more than 25 years of service.

They are the parents of Malinda (Jay) Lucky Flores. They are the grandparents of Lindia and London.

They are members of Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna.

Both enjoy playing golf and are members of local leagues. She enjoys playing tennis and belongs to several groups. They also enjoy traveling, church activities and spending time with family and friends. The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Cancun this summer with their daughter and family.
